EDGED WEAPONS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IF NOT HANDLE PROPERLY.
Safety MUST ALWAYS be the prime consideration of anyone who handles dangerous weapons. Always handle your weapon with full concentration towards safety, and with respect. Make sure all bystanders are a safe distance away from you and the maximum extended reach or your weapon when the blade is unsheathed.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU FIRST RECEIVE YOUR SWORD
ALWAYS HOLD THE SWORD IN SCABBARD WITH HILT FACING UP AND UNSHEATHE YOUR SWORD CAREFULLY WITH HILT FACING UP AND BLADE FACING AWAY FROM YOU.
Due to differences in humidity (especially in winter months) between Longquan and the final designation, the scabbard might not maintain the same factory tight fit. Gravity will pull the sword out of the scabbard if you hold the scabbard with the sword hilt facing down, causing injury to yourself and others. You can always adjust the scabbard tightness after giving the scabbard time to settle to your local condition.
