Our Battle Han Jian is not a product of imagination. We based every aspect of the design of our battle Jian based on the original. We visited museums and reference archeological reports. Most importantly, we engaged private collectors and gain access to their collections.
We measure the length, width, thickness, weight of the blade and we study the fittings and scabbard. What we recreate are true representation of the real Han Jian.
Some of the best surviving specimens of Han Jian come from private collections. The quality of Han Jian in these private collections surpasses public museums.
HAN Jian was one of the most valuable object for a person living during the Han Dynasty and very often follow the owner to his tombs. This funeral practice lead us to see what a real Han Jian looks like. As a matter of fact, we know more about Han Jian than any other Jian in ancient China. The number of Han Jian discovered is larger than the total sum of all other period Jian.
